"Have you made up your mind yet about cloning? Listen, I believe the entire issue can be summed up in a statement you've heard so many times from your parents and grandparents. As a matter of fact you've caught yourself saying the same phrase to your children. It's this, just because we CAN do something, doesn't mean it should be done.

Just because you CAN beat up Johnny, doesn't mean you should.

Just because you COULD rob this old lady who's stranded in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night, doesn't mean you should.

Just because you COULD cheat on your spouse and the odds would be 99% he wouldn't find out about it, doesn't mean you should.

Just because you COULD cheat your employer or employees AND most likely get away with it, doesn't mean you should.

Technology has brought new ways for infertile women to have children. It's bringing us new ways to cure disease and expand our years paying taxes. Cloning's great attraction is that it CAN be done, NOT that it's needed. We have people who are so narcissistic they want their image and likeness to walk upon this earth once they're gone. That's SICK!

We've got star struck people who would pay millions to create another Elvis. Will there be a time when you go to the catalog and pick out the person you want? Can some sicko be far behind who wants to have a little Hitler?

You are being made to believe that cloning is the next great miracle to cure everything from pimples to potholes. Put that on the same plate with stem cell research. I'll find you just as many credible, knowledgeable, trusted scientist and doctors who believe in ADULT stem cell research AND don't believe in cloning a human being.

If you need one single reason that this is a bad idea, think about this. Can you image our children or children's children being plagued with ANOTHER BILL CLINTON?"
