State Democratic Party Settles 6 ½ Year Old Lawsuit

JACKSON – The lawsuit filed by former Executive Director Alice Skelton against the Mississippi Democratic Party was settled today. The suit filed in February 1997 for contractual payments of salary, bonus, interest and attorney fees was set for trial today in Hinds County Circuit Court.

Ms. Skelton and the Mississippi Democratic Party released this statement:

“Alice Skelton and the Mississippi Democratic Party have settled the suit Ms. Skelton brought against the Party to the satisfaction of all parties involved.

The settlement agreement provides that neither Ms. Skelton nor the Democratic Party can comment further.”
